Toronto Plastic Surgeon Is First In Canada To Offer New Procedure For Vaginal Rejuvenation Without Surgery

    By Paul Fitzgerald

A plastic surgeon in Toronto is the first in Canada to now offer a new revolutionary procedure that assists women to regain and restore their confidence.

Dr. Sean Rice, the founder and owner of Rice Cosmetic Surgery, is now offering the ThermiVa, which is new, state-of-the-art treatment – safe and effective on every level- for feminine rejuvenation.

Health Canada has just given regulatory clearance for this new procedure.

ThermiVa utilizes a combination of radio frequency and controlled thermal energy to prompt the firming processes of a woman’s vagina.

Dr. Rice has been involved in the development of the Thermi prototype over the last three years and is taking the lead in launching the procedure here in Toronto and across Canada.

“Feminine rejuvenation is a huge trend here in Toronto and across the country,” says Dr. Rice.

“However the ThermiVa has applications not just in feminine rejuvenation but also aids in stimulating lubrication of the vaginal canal and helps to tighten the muscles surrounding the urethra and this helps with small cases of urinary incontinence - that embarrassing leakage when some women laugh.”

He has been offering feminine rejuvenation for over the last decade at his clinic in Toronto.

“The ThermiVa utilizes thermal energy to tighten underlying tissues by specifically targeting trouble areas,” he says.

“Excessive relaxation of the vaginal muscles is a common occurrence after childbirth or just the ageing process alone. The ThermiVa is able to tighten female genital tissues, both externally and internally through a slight invasive process,” he says.

The treatment works by stimulating new collagen growth and increasing blood flow to the area. The increased blood flow helps with nerve stimulation that in turn can help to alleviate conditions such as post-menopausal dryness and urinary incontinence. Many women report increased sexual satisfaction.

Damage to the vagina after childbirth or through the aging process can diminish sensation during intercourse, reduce sexual satisfaction and change the relationship between partners. Laxity of the skin is caused by numerous factors; and no area is immune to this natural decline.

On average the procedure includes three separate treatments over a three month period. There is no down time between treatments. Some women start to see the benefits after the first treatment.

The cost average is $3000 for three treatments, which is done in about 30 minutes per treatment.

“The most wonderful thing about women getting this treatment is that there is zero recovery time,” says Dr. Rice. “Generally patients can resume normal activity immediately, including sexual intercourse.”
