Ben Carson Stands by Claim on Egypt's Pyramids - The Bible Says They Were Built to Store Grain?

Does the Bible say that Joseph built the Pyramids to store grain?
I've read about the famine that was predicted but never saw Carson's point in there. Maybe it was a different version.
"Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson on Thursday stood by his belief that Egypt's great pyramids were built by the Biblical figure Joseph to store grain, an assertion dismissed by experts who say its accepted science they were tombs for pharaohs."- [AP]

When asked, Carson's supporters say they believe him; and if it's not entirely true, it doesn't matter because Carson has faith that his belief is true and that's good enough for them.
If this is evidence for anything at all, it's certainly an argument for more money to be invested in our public education system.
This side of the political aisle seems to rely more on religious based beliefs than on hard science as is also evidenced in their refusal to believe that the climate is changing.
As one conservative Congressman stated, "God wouldn't destroy the Earth with water again because he promised he wouldn't in the Bible".
Yes, we have a rainbow to attest to God's promise.
This is not simply light refracting through water vapor but the Hand of God reminding Carson that he's there to guide him- hopefully to better educate himself before he takes over the control of our nuclear weapons.
