    Chaco Canyon, New Mexico

Recently my wife Sandi and I went to Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. Chaco Canyon was a large trading center for the Pueblo or Anasazi native Americans 800 - 1200 years ago. This ancient city was the center of southwest civilization. Now it's very far from civilization. It took a few hours driving on reservation roads and a 20 mile dirt road from Albuquerque to get there. There hasn't been a lot of restoration and it is pretty much the same as it was when discovered in the mid 1800s.
