Midwest quake |
Quake on the farm
We live on a small farm in northern Kentucky, and my husband and I were woken up by the earthquake. I heard the mirror on my dresser
banging against the wall, and at first thought it might be thunder
(when we get big storms here, sometimes our two-story house will
shudder.) But when I looked out the window all I saw was stars, so
doubted it was thunder.
The quake didn't last long, no more than 20 seconds or so. My
daughter came running downstairs and said her bathroom counter was
shaking (she had already gotten up and was getting ready for
school.) When we turned on the tv, we had it confirmed that it was
an earthquake.Later that morning I was upstairs working in my office and we
felt the aftershock (about 4.8 they said.) I felt the floor
trembling, and my computer monitor started doing the hoochie
koochie! I yelled, the dog started to bark, and when I logged onto
my local chat website other folks had felt it too. Exciting stuff!
