    More from maomania

    German-American

I was born and raised in Germany, moved to the US when I was 21 years old and I am now living the American Dream. My family still lives overseas and I have friends all throughout Europe who I talk to pretty much on a daily basis.

I am amazed by the interest in this election overseas. My dad calls me all the time to get updates from an "American standpoint" (love you Dad).

Pretty much everybody in Germany and throughout Europe is pro Obama which makes kind of sense.

They are looking for a president who shows interest in other countries values and beliefs. They don't like the Cowboy politics "If you are not with us, you're against us".

Bush was a terrible diplomat and damaged America's reputation throughout the world.

This is an election where only Americans have a say but it will have an effect way beyond our borders.  It's wonderful to see the excitment and hope of those people who are all holding their breath right now, waiting for  Obama's victory.

My biggest concern is not a McCain win but all the calls and emails I will receive from my friends and family asking me "Why?????" like all of the sudden I'm the american spokesman :).
