    First time voter -Woo hoo!!!!

I voted for the first time this morning. I got to my polling place 5 minuted before it opened (7:00am) The line was out the door!! I waited for 45  minutes and then I cast my ballot. It was so cool to see all the young people like me waiting to do the same.

No matter who wins the presidency, this will be an election day long remembered for voter turnout. I'm proud that so many people have decided to fulfill their civic duty and vote.

I hope that every person who wants to vote and has the right to vote in this country will be able to do so. The first time I was able to vote in a presidential election (2004) I was actually turned away because of confusion with my polling place. I was a college student with no proof that I lived where I did and they had no answers for me on how to remedy my situation so I could vote.

This year, I was pre-registered (my state, MN allows registration on election day), and I did my research and everything went smoothly, except for the 45 minute wait.

For the sake of family harmony and friendship diplomacy, I will not say who I voted for, only that I feel that I made an informed decision, having weighed both sides and the issues important to me.
