Laura Vecchione - "Tell Them About the Dream"

    Dear iReport,

This is a song inspired by a story I heard told by a commentator on CNN on the day of Obama's acceptance speech on  on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

It was the story of the moments just before Rev. King gave his speech. He intended to keep the content dark but before he sat down, Gospel singer Mahalia Jackson called out, "Tell them about the Dream, Martin!" He put his notes aside and gave one of our most inspirational speeches that opened hearts and changed history.

That's what Obama's campaign has done- tapped into the creative imagination, made us feel like we can come together and do anything, and stayed focused on the positive within all of us.

This is a song and video that came together in a week, in three different cities, because of people's belief in Sen. Obama and his message of renewal and the historic nature of this election.  It is called "Tell Them About the Dream."

We got it up just in the nick of time to inspire people on Election Day, and it has been receiving great response on YouTube and Facebook.

The musicans joining me are New Orleans native and Julliard Graduate,Jonathan Batiste, and his amazing quartet.

Thank you for inspiring me with your election coverage.  I am so grateful for your consideration!

    Sincerely,

    Laura Vecchione
