This iReport is part of an assignment:
More expensive to eat |
7 Adults on $25 a day
I shop 6 days a week to feed a household of 7 including a 7-foot-2 300-pound 21-year-old giant. You think an ordinary teenager can do some eating - wowie!!. One staple for sure is the milk, currently $4.39 a gallon. Every week at least, a case of assorted Ramen noodles - 8 for a dollar, sometimes even 12 for a dollar. Look for 'em folks - "meat" hot dogs 4 packs for 5 dollars! Bread is 99 cents for a pound-six loaf, 1.99 for a 48-oz tub of spread.
I love ShopRite, many years ago went to Pathmark because they were open 24 hours, went into one the other day and found their Ramen noodles 32 cents a pack!
ShopRite has great bargins - boneless chicken breasts $1.59 a pound is a staple. We eat healthy, no potato chips, no soda, no donuts.
There ya go!
