This iReport is part of an assignment:
CNN T-shirt challenge |
CNN Stoops To A New Low
I was shocked and disgusted to find that CNN.com is selling T-shirts with news headlines printed on them, even when the headlines are as tragic as "Dad mistakes son for prey, shoots." Only certain headlines are available on shirts, meaning someone must have hand-picked the above headline to be placed on a shirt. What is CNN.com trying to accomplish here? Many people already see the media as trying to make a buck off of the suffering of others and I find doing so in such a blatant way to be extremely disturbing. I can think of few things more terrible than accidentally shooting one's own child and for CNN.com to print such a headline on a t-shirt is sickening. By the way, the boy that was shot was 8 years old and died of his injuries.
