Obama makes history |
San Jose State University Celebrates
Within minutes of Obama being predicted as the next President, students at San Jose State University in San Jose, California, started celebrating. The celebration was more focused on the new black President instead of a new Democratic President, but who cares? Students are excited about politics. At first, they started gathering around the dorms, until a student yelled "To the Statue!" We all immediately knew what he meant. Student began running to the statue of Tommie Smith and John Carlos on the opposite side of campus, where we all saluted and a student made a very moving speech.
