This iReport is part of an assignment:
Congratulations from a McCain Supporter
President-Elect Obama was not my choice for President, but he will now be my President and as such he will have my full support; and like President Bush, he will also have my critiques when I feel he is not doing the will of the people.
I listened to both speeches last night and I wish Senator McCain had been more like that during the campaign...the outcome may have been very different and then again, maybe not.
I listened to President-Elect Obama and sat there praying that he is true to his words. I will reserve judgement on that at this time, but I pray he is true to his word. I must say, I did like his response to Senator McCain and Gov Palin:
"Sen. McCain fought long and hard in this campaign. And he's fought even longer and harder for the country that he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine. We are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader.
I congratulate him; I congratulate Gov. Palin for all that they've achieved. And I look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead."
The world has just seen how we in America conduct our revolutions. Not with guns, bombs, and violence, but with ballots.
God Bless President-Elect Obama, God Bless his family, and God Bless the United States of America.
