Dear Santa (aka President Obama)
Dear President Obama,
I'm not asking for much from you at this point. You've got your hands full just straightening out eight years of failed policies. But I won't tell you that I'm not worried.
You have to understand that I'm a conservative from one of those red states. One who's never voted for a Democrat in her entire life, until you that is. So I am worried you're going to fulfill all the terrible predictions my neighbors are making, even though my common sense tells me otherwise. That I'll be wrong about you, the way I was about Bush. This time, though it was a lonelier choice, and if you fail us, I'll be in the minority that voted for you and we'll be easy targets. The heat I caught from family and friends and spouse for choosing you was notable. But I did my homework (a lot more of it than usual actually) and truly believe you're the right guy for the job. So please don't blow it.
What I'm going to ask from you is simply this: Please don't let me down. Don't forget about the very people who voted for you in the first place, the working class folks who need you the most at the moment. Thanks Mr. Obama. Best of luck for the next four. I'm praying for you.
