Food shortage NOT due to bio fuels
Brazil is one of the
world's biggest users of bio fuel and there is no food crunch here. All gasoline in Brazil is 25%
ethanol made from sugar cane. Most newer cars are bi-fuel and will run
on gasoline, 100% ethanol or any mixture of the two. For years, many
cars have been 100% ethanol only. So, if there were a food crisis
brought on by bio fuels, we would have felt it here years ago.
Nor have we seen any dramatic surge in food prices. Only that which can be accounted for my rising fuel costs and normal inflation is an improving economy.
