The value of scientific research
Recently Ms. Palin mocked fruit fly research as wasteful spending. Here, I ask her whether she has gained a new perspective on the value of scientific research given that the fruit fly has provided countless advancements in genetics and developmental research, with applications not only for scientists but also for medicine and the general public.
