Equal Rights March - San Diego - Random Footage - 11/15/2008

Supporters of same-sex marriage are marching in cities across the country Today, the biggest demonstration so far by those angered over last week's passage of Proposition 8 in California.

San Diego's march has taken over the streets = Sixth Avenue and Upas Street in Hillcrest , run south on Sixth, then west on Broadway, then north on North Harbor Drive to the County Administration Center.

The march is to end with a 1 p.m. rally at the center.

Supporters of such events want the state Supreme Court to invalidate Proposition 8, which passed with 52 percent of the vote Nov. 4. Opponents say the vote should end the debate, since a majority ruled in favor of the ban.

Protests against Proposition 8 have been occurring all week, including a Nov. 8 march that drew 8,000 to 10,000 people.
