    Exxon Mobil and Alternative Energy

With today's economic crisis, I was bothered by the way Barack Obama would attack Exxon Mobil. I inherited Exxon Mobil stock from my fiance and as a stockholder, I can honestly say that it is the only thing in my investment portfolio which is holding up and that has kept my finances from being a TOTAL DISASTER! If I had listened to the so called experts, I would have sold it off and diversified. Fortunately, I did not. I would like to mention that Exxon Mobil has 14,000 scientists and researchers in may departments that have to do with CLEAN energy. Here are just a few: Technological innovation is key to supplying the world's significantly growing need for energy. ExxonMobil develops and deploys breakthrough technologies to help find, retrieve, deliver and use energy supplies safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. With technology, we are able to locate previously undiscovered reserves far beneath the Earth's surface, breathe new life into mature reservoirs and transport fuel safely and more cost-effectively across vast distances. Exxon Mobil's revolutionary battery separator film technology could help put more hybrids on the road. ExxonMobil's battery separator film technology can significantly enhance the power, safety and reliability of lithium-ion batteries, facilitating the adoption of these smaller and lighter batteries into the next generation of low-emission vehicles. Exxon Mobil is involved in carbon capture and storage projects in several locations. These projects recover carbon dioxide (CO 2) that would otherwise be released to the atmosphere and inject it into oil and gas reservoirs or deep saline aquifers. Here is the link: http://www.media.exxonmobil.com/media/microsite/index1.html I don't know if they actually get the tax breaks Obama claims, but if they do, it must have something to do with research. The government does not give tax breaks for no reason. I hope that Obama doesn't wind up driving this company into the ground as they are one company that will continue to move forward, break ground with new technology and continute to be profitable in the years to come. I know there are alot of you that think they aren't entitled to the profits they earn, however if you were invested in them, you would be glad you were in this economy.
