Gas Tax - Spread the Wealth
In the mist of the campaign season gas hit $4.50 a gallon and Obama's public reaction was there is nothing wrong with gas at that price. But it just happened to quickly to give the consumer time to be conditioned; that higher gas prices should be at that level.
Now comes the auto bailout request. The big 3 were sent packing to come up with a plan to present congress. We all know that the Dem Congress being green will require the big 3 to come up with plans to build more fuel efficient cars and trucks.
So with the economy in a stink, and people still remembering higher gas prices we are driving less than ever. The Big three are going to be forced to build more efficent gas burning car further reducing gas consumption.
Now Obama want to create 2.5 million jobs to fix the country's infrastructure. Infrastructure improvement is typically paid through gas tax.
With less gas being consummed and it appears even less consummed in the future with all these higher efficient cars how long can it be before a significant gasoline and desiel tax hike be imposed in the name of the infrastructure? Remembering that Obama was already ok with $4.50 gas.
Obama may give you $500 as an income tax rebate. But if Obama stays on the small side of gas tax ,which you know he's going to raise, and raises it $1 a gallon cheap enough right? If you use 15 gallons of gas a week thats $750 a year and Obama is going to give you a $500 income tax break. Talk to Joe the plumber, thats spreading the wealth..to Obama.
