    More from SlickNick

Fast food, blood pressure, cholestrol, health and obesity!!!

Your in a hurry going to work, or on a quick lunch break. So you run into a fast food establishment and order those braekfeast sandwiches. Or fresh golden brown fries,(dripping in fat) umm, umm, good. And of course a quarter pounder with a soda or shake.

Great! Lunch is over and you feel good. But how good in time? Thats a whole different story.

Fast food places are an early stage to cholestrol problems as well as blood pressure. The fat, salt and sugar consumption are serious additives to health problems.

Cholestrol clogs the arteries which can lead to stroke or heart attack. Sugar can make you gain weight and promote your blood pressure to jump. Shakes and burgers just put on the pounds to promote obesity!

The older you get the more careful you have to be of these things. I had blood pressure and cholestrol problems so I changed my eating habits. You can count on one hand the number of times I eat in a fast food place. And my cholestrol is below 200 now and my blood pressure is under control. I am on low count medicine for both. But I eat whole wheat bread, oatmeal, cheerios, and 2 to 4 pieces of fruit and a vegetable generally everyday. It has helped alot and my Doctor is pleased.

One final note that bothers me is this. More and more I have noticed the kids, young ages slamming fast food. For such young ages, between 5 and 10 they are extremely over weight. This will cause major problems in their mid years if they make it.

Do yourself a favor folks, make a small change whenever you can with your food. Life is worth walking, not laying in a grave!
