“Stuck in Bangkok” is all about

perspective isn't it? Being a Canadian, I am so used to being in

charge and living with regular conveniences that I have been

frustrated that I am not free to come and go when I please. It causes

us to get angry when when we call Thai Airways and we are not the

first in line or that we are paying customers really does not matter.

In the west, we are so used to being in control and not having to

deal with regular inconveniences that much of the world faces

everyday. Yes, it messes up our plans and folks back home have to

adjust but other than that it means chilling where we are and trying

to figure out how much to push or how much to “take a number”.

The world is changing rapidly and yet life goes on. I was with my

friends this week while they worked with families in the slums- life

goes on. To these folks, it matters little who is in control of the

country. There biggest issues are food, shelter, and clothing. Maybe

those of us that have some time on our hands could lend a hand while

waiting for that new flight to be added? The frontline folks at Thai

Airways are trying their best. Why the corporation doesn't step it up

and open up the skies elsewhere besides Bangkok is beyond me?? Thanks

Air Canada for being a friendly voice and doing whatever you could!
