    Ask Christiane Amanpour

    Scream Bloody Murder.....Bosnia.

    Good day,

I just wanted to send a quick comment about the upcoming (and for me, anticipated) Scream Bloody Murder documentary.

I am originally from Banja Luka, Bosnia, I currently reside in Ontario, Canada. My mother and I left as refugees to Slovenia, my father came a few months after, through the black market because he was a Muslim Bosnian, in politics nonetheless, in Banja Luka. He finally got out of the country on his third attempt, or else, would have most likely been dead.

My auntie, in the picture with me, to the right, was not as fortunate. She was one of the people captured and held in a concentration camp by Karadzic. She was 20% disabled and afterwards he and his guards were done with her, she was almost 90% disabled. She had her new born son, my younger cousin, with her through the entire ordeal and made it out alive.

I know the story is about to be aired tomorrow anyways, but please, if you can, look up the court case of Kadic vs. Karadzic from the UN in New York a couple of years ago. Kadic, Silvana Kadic, is my aunt.

The reason for me writing to you is just to thank you for covering Bosnia. My mom says that she remembers (because I was too young) of when you would report from Bosnia, and how not many others did. Having finished Journalism and Communications, I commend that effort. Not only because I love this field, and want to be in it one day, but because you covered what was happening in my home and will be again, because people quickly forget.

Thank you, and you do a magnificent job of covering international news and my mother, and father and myself all look forward to watching the documentary tomorrow night.

    Mirna.
