Zoo Lights of the Zoo Northwest Florida
We celebrate Christmas every year by going to the Zoo Lights of the Zoo Northwest Florida in Pensacola, Florida. This zoo is a non-profit zoo, and has been struggling for years to keep its doors open after being severely damaged by Hurricane Ivan back in Sept of 2005. Danyell Lantz, the executive director and her staff, have been working hard to put together another wonderful Zoo land of Christmas lights, and this year is the best yet, with Christmas music, food, crafts, face painting for the children and to pull it all together, a train ride through the park for the whole family. When we arrived, there was barely a parking space left in the lot. Lots of animal lovers and their families came out tonight to take a stroll along the paths and marvel at the lights. This has long been a ritual celebration for many here in our community, it is nice to see so many came out to support the zoo and carry on a local tradition.
