Dumping Raw Sewage off the Freeway in Costa Rica
You won't believe what happened this morning on my way to work. I live in Cariari and was headed to work taking my normal route which is the main freeway to San Jose, Costa Rica. About 1/2 mile from Mall Cariari, I come upon a blue and white truck stopped in the slow lane. Upon first glance, I thought the truck was having mechanical difficulties as there was a person underneath the back wheels. As I got closer, I noticed another person sitting on the railing dumping black water (Aguas negras) into a field next to freeway. I was furious.
I pulled over took out my camera and started shooting. The 1st picture, they had no idea I was there, the 2nd, when he saw me, he turned around yelled at his friend to get the hell out of there, then turned off the nozzle and got into the truck and tried to take off... I have a big truck too. I wouldn't let them go until they really understood how I felt.
