This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your thoughts on 'Nevermind'
It was all garbage before...
Before Grunge hit the scene it was "ooh baby, baby, party with me all night long" - bad vocals, ridiculous "look at me!" solos, horrible lyrics and writing, and really bad spandex. Nirvana hit the scene and people finally had something to listen to that reflected how they actually felt.
Rock runs in cycles (and has stalled in it's evolution) while the 50's were the beginning of rock, the 60's actually explored a thought process behind the lyrics, the 80's and early 90's were raped by corporate crap and party junk - the Grunge period was a rebirth of the 60's with social awareness. Right now we are stuck in garbage mode with nothing but corporate machines spitting out carbon copies of crap.
Don't get me wrong, both punk and grunge have been raped by corporations and some of the stuff being put out now is junk, but anything is better than David Lee Roth.
