    A Black Gold Bail-out

So as Americans look at the large amount of money being flung to the far reaches of the U.S. during this crisis we realize one thing:  the people managing the money have lost accountability, as well as the people managing them.

For several years now Americans have been spending large amounts of their income at the pumps.  Doing a little research myself I have discovered that an average family with 2 cars making 40k a year was spending an average of $700 - $1000 a month at the pumps during the hieght of gas price hike.  Thats at least 1/4 of their annual income!  Let's not get started on housing prices.......

So looking at that, of course bills are not going to be paid, houses will go into foreclosure, credit will worsen, and people will loose jobs because of poor fiscal planning.  People are just trying to survive in this anarchistic market.

This is a question that has been asked many times with still no result - where, oh where, does the money go to?  The billions upon billions of dollars given to the oil industry has vanished like a fart in the wind.  Now, when Americans need it most, the oil industry it holding its capitol close to its chest like a baby clutching its wooby.

Why doesn't the oil industry fork up several billion just to help stay the crisis it helped create?  Or am I just being nieve and avoiding the deeper question?  Probably.

The system is broken.  Large corporations have taken advantage of the Country and Americans in a way that could only be compared to date rape.  What's even worse?  Nobody did anything to stop it until after the crime was commited and they watched it happen with their own eyes.

I can only emphatically express my sheer dislike for the handling of this situation.  What's worse is that corporate America still hasn't learned it's lesson because it's asking to repeat the same crime it has been committing for the last decade; making the taxpayer suffer.  What's worse than that - our ELECTED officials have been so blinded by money from lobbyists that when there is none 'educated' decision making grinds to a halt.

So when is someone going to be held responsible for the mess that has been created by a lack of oversight - or should I be a little more courageous in calling it 'plausible deniability?'  A fifth grader with no calculator could have easily seen the failing of so many households due to poor risk management.  Why can't our Harvard educated government see the same thing?
