    Prague's Christmas Market

I recently made a business trip to Prague, the Czech Republic for planning meetings related to ForgetMeNot Software, a company I co-founded several years ago, but which just received an important bit of investment.  My business partners were already in London for other reasons, so it made sense for me to fly there.  London, however, is cold and wet this time of year, and expensive to boot.  Prague is a better bargain, easy (and cheap) to reach from London, and to my mind, far more interesting.

Christmas season is a perfect time to visit Prague, particularly around December 5, which is the Feast of St. Nicholas.  I don't know the entire backstory to the festivities, but on that day, many Czechs wander around as bishops, angels and devils (though devils seem vastly more popular), tormenting children and forcing them to answer questions or recite poetry in exchange for candy.  It's a Christmas-ified version of Halloween, and was fun to watch.
