    Weird Question

    If a woman is married to a man in a civil ceremony, but the marriage is not valid by religious law, can she claim that her civil marriage never happened and then marry another man from the church who meets religious requirements?

     

     

    I don't think so but someone's arguing with me that in the eyes of the church she's never been married and is only married if the man is from the church also.

     

     

    This can't be true.  Right?
