Pain at the pump
My Honda Ruckus gets 100 mpg
Up until last week, I hated my southern califnornia commute. Not so much because of the so-called pain at the pump. But because it was boring, predictable. Every day getting stuck in the same freeway traffic jams at the same time. Sure I'm an
environmental type guy, and I love to stick it to the oil companies, but more than anything, I like fun. Life is short and you should change the things you hate into the things you love. I bought a Honda Ruckus scooter for $2600 out the door. 79 miles on the speedometer and it has changed my life. I love my commute now. I LOVE RIDING THE RUCKUS!! I stay on the surface streets and I max out at 43 mph for my 13 mile commute, but I never need to go faster than that anyway. I just filled up the tank for the first time yesterday. for .87 gallons, it cost me a whopping $3 and change. I'm seriously thinking of dumping my 07 Honda Element and using the Ruckus full time. I don't care if gas goes to $7 or $10 a gallon. In fact, I hope it does. To get more of these gas guzzling maniacs off the roads and to get less greenhouse gases in the air. Higher gas prices have been good for me. Vote Obama in 2008!! But the bottom line on the Ruckus, again, is not the money or the environment, is the FUN TO DRIVE factor. PS I also ride a Marin hybrid bicycle and I'm going to mix that in with the Ruckus. Life is good. No pain for me. Anyone want to buy an 07 Honda Element with Low Miles?
