This iReport is part of an assignment:
Wildfires blazing near you |
Fire in Sierra Madre, Arcadia California
These are a few shots of the mountain fire from my back yard in
Sierra Madre California. The fire started April 26,2008 and the LA
Co. Fire used water drops to contain it. But night
time came and they had to stop the assault. The fire spread to the
west and north over the ridge last night. I could see a ribbon
of fire glowing in the dark around 10 PM. This morning they
aggressively attacked the fire and today around 6:30 PM it is
almost out. A large burn area remains. I fear we are going to have
a bad fire season. Lots of fuel up in them there hills. Today the fire seems to have moved into the back country, I can see smoke but no flames.
