    A Homade Christmas

Usually Christmas is all about presents and getting stuff. You can call this loony, but in our family it really isn't all about getting things, or giving things for that matter. (We are human though) On Christmas eve my Great Grandmother busts her butt to get the feast of the seven fishes together, I wrote about that a while ago. All the family gets together, we sit at the table, eat, talk. (Argue) After that, we do get and gives gifts, but the real treat is spending time with the family.

After that, on Christmas morning my family opens their gifts and my Mother gets ready to host Christmas dinner for my Great Grandmother and Aunt. We sit at the table and eat, every year with A Christmas Story playing in the background. All of this without getting to many presents.

You see, if you look at this holiday as something other than the season of gifts, it becomes easier to have a "Holly Jolly Christmas" In it's original form, Christmas was a holiday to sit back and remember what the little babe in swaddling clothe did for all of humanity. Once we remember that, then and only then does Christmas, and all aspects of life, becomes truly beautiful.
