    Hawaii's Big Island, "The Healing Island", is very unique in that it has 11 of the Earth's climate zones...desert, gorgeous beaches, rainforests, several volcanoes, which include Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and the still-active Kilauea...vast lava fields, tropical flowers....The landscape is overall very barren, with mostly lava rock fields, and personal graffiti messages laid out in white rock all over the place.  There are coffee farms, macadamia nut farms, organic food farms, paniolo (cowboys) at famous Parker Ranch, and even whale-watching in season.
