    Eartha Kitt (???) Dead

    I loved her as Catwoman on the 1960s Batman TV series, but when did Lee Meriwether become a black woman and change her name to Eartha Kitt?!? What's up with that? Eartha Kitt sounds like a kid's bulldozer toy.

     

     

     

     

    Anyway, Lee was hot - a former Miss America - and also got to flex her acting chops opposite the late great Buddy Ebsen on TV's "Barnaby Jones". I'm sad to learn that she died, but I'm very confused about the whole race and name change.
