Scenic Train Ride in Skagway, Alaska
Took a train ride on Skagway's White Pass & Yukon railway in July, 2007. It is considered the "Scenic Railway of the World". The railway was built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush. The train climbs nearly 3000 feet in just 20 miles. There are steep grades, cliff-hanging turns, tunnels, and bridges. Pictures were taken by me outside one of the railcars.
