International Year of Astronomy 2009
As seen on the building which houses the National Radio Astronomy Observatory run by a consortium of universities including the University of Virginia where this picture was taken.
The consortium operates several radio telescopes the closest of which to us is in Green Bank, West Virginia.
The banner on the building is announcing 2009 as the International Year of Astronomy.
