This iReport is part of an assignment:
Images of Obama |
UNITE
This is a 48" square portrait I made out of about 50,000 crayons. It took me 4-5 months to complete. I based it on the amazing photo that Richard Avedon took of him at the '04 Convention where he gave his infamous"red and blue" states speech. Which is what I pulled from to create the background. I started on it just before he secured the nomination and finished it just as he won the election. I hope he gets to see it. Actually I would love to do a full figure larger than life First Family portrait(even with the new dog) for the White House. I have been invited to show it at the Manifest Hope Show in DC for the Inauguration. You can view more of my crayon sculptures, order a print of this sculpture, and see a few progress pics on my website at www.herbwilliamsart.com. Thanks
