Is Horace Mackey Running A Scam on Obamaites?
The Inauguration Road trip organized by Horace Mackey seems to be fraud. Horace Mackey set up an elaborate website where he advertised road trips to the Inauguration from over 20 cities throughout the United States. On the websites, www.obamainauguration2009.com and his yahoo website, customers were able to make online payments in amounts ranging from $100 to as much as $370 depending on the departure city. The yahoo website accepted PayPal payments. Mr. Mackey also accepted payments by money order and cashier check.
As for the State of Florida, Horace Mackey led customers to believe he secured hotel rooms for a trip leaving Davie on January 18th. He never provided a real hotel location until January 6th, when confronted as a fraud. He stated the hotel rooms were paid in advance months ago because he had to keep them from being released. On December 31, I called the Holiday Inn in Fredericksburg, VA to find out if there were any hotel rooms blocked or reserved under Mr. Mackey’s name. The answer was NO! I asked if there were any hotel rooms listed under the group name, the answer was NO!
As for the transportation that was scheduled to leave Miami and Davie. Mr. Mackey was initially using Larry Freedman of ALM Transportation and Tours. Larry Freedman may be reached at 954.553.6777, 954.553.0115, 954.718.3777. According to Larry, Horace never paid for the buses that were scheduled to leave Miami and Davie, Florida. Horace accepted $195 from customers leaving Miami. He accepted $370 from customers leaving Davie. Customers paid online via PayPal, CCNOW, and by money order. Horace has failed to return anyone’s phone calls or money for the truth.
Horace began to unravel. He began to try to defend his story but has yet to refund anyone. It is a sin and shame for a young black man or anyone for that matter to rob people of this great experience.
