WHITE HOUSE: Out With the White Bread...In With the Healthy Foods
Our President Elect and family apparently enjoys a very healthy diet.
Article:
The President who notoriously wouldn't eat anything "green" or "wet" is being replaced by one who loves his meals straight from the garden.
While George W. Bush spent his two terms scarfing down BLTs, white-bread grilled cheese sandwiches and burgers, President-elect
Barack Obama will usher in just as big a culinary makeover as a partisan one.
"Apparently he is not into carbs," says Denver chef Daniel Young, who cooked for Obama at the Democratic National Convention. "I made lots of fresh, healthy foods."
"They try to limit the sweets and they include a lot of fruits, vegetables and lean meats in their meals," an Obama palsaid. "Of course that isn't always possible when he has been campaigning."
And....the Obamas have finally come to a decision on who will be their chef come moving day and they have opted to continue on with
the chef from the current Bush administration. (So not all people will be leaving the White House!)
Article:
Today Michelle Obama announced that Cristeta Comerford will stay on as White House executive chef, putting to rest all the speculation surrounding the decision.
Cristeta Comerford took the job in 2005 and is thefirst woman and first minority to serve as
executive chef.
"Cristeta Comerford brings such incredible
talent to the White House operation and came very highly regarded from the Bush family," Michelle Obama said in a statement released by the transition team. "Also the mom of a young
daughter, I appreciateour shared perspective on the importance of healthy eating and healthy families."
Sorry about this post and the crazy spacing. I have tried numerous times to fix it, but to no avail.
