This iReport is part of an assignment:
Signs of the economic times |
wading in the calm water
I wonder sometimes if any of it ever changes.
Wading through the waters, it seems like the world is in constant turmoil, like the never ceasing oceans.
I pray, as do so many, that the signs will change, but reading new Ireports gives me little to be cheerful over.
I hope that the creation of another avenue for expression, the Ireport can offer some venue for continued dialogue, continued presence in the darkness offering a bit of illumination. It will always be that the powerful dont want the story out, the radicals want the story to be told only from their perspective, the huddled masses standing in confusion over how to implement change, how to participate courageously, how to bring forth the better world.
Change is slow. Change is difficult. Change is rare when so heavily invested in maintaining only our own perspective, our own version of reality.
I hate there is still so much conflict in the world, so much corruption here in our little Rome that we become disillusioned and resigned.
I will remain hopeful that mankind can someday grow up. I hope the same for my kids, your kids. I hope the same can be said for all the innocents who are bystanders becoming victims, for the planting of such seeds will bring forth bitter fruit in the future.
Perhaps Rodney King was most correct in his request so long ago.
CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG
I will wade through the waters, knowing it is the life-sustaining fluid we all must have to survive. From beginning to end, it is a journey, and the Dead were so correct,
WHAT A LONG STRANGE TRIP ITS BEEN
Finally, someone please keep Dick Cheney off the television. I get a bit nausiated and froth at the mouth whenever he shows up. I tell myself it means nothing that it was HE who swore in the 111th Congress.....
sigh
