Jack In The Box Abuses the Disabled?
On Jan 6th, 2009 I sent an email to Jack-in-the-Box restaurants, detailing
an issue I had with their Monster Tacos. My face was heavily reconstructed
in 1999 and JITB's improper preparation of the tacos was causing me a
hardship, making them painful to eat and causing me to toss away up to 30%
of any given item in order to avoid that pain. My email to them was
constructive and polite, as you'll hear in the first portion of the video.
You'll see me later in the video. As of Jan 8th, JITB was still serving
the Monster Tacos and they were still on the menu. On Jan 10th however,
and having still not heard back from JITB itself, I was told at the
Woodland Hills, Calif store, that the Monster Tacos were no longer
available. Friends in other cities have since confirmed that their stores
no longer offer them either.
It would seem that Jack-in-the-box at the very least took the moral low
ground. Having an opportunity to do a good thing and making my life a
little easier, they instead chose to deal with the problem by getting rid
of the problem altogether, making my life measurably more difficult. As of
this time, I have heard only silence from Jack-in-the- box.
