This iReport is part of an assignment:
Plane down in Hudson River |
Inside the Rescue Center - Passenger Photos
Photos from a passenger on the US Airways flight that crashed in the Hudson.
I was in the group of passengers taken by boat to New Jersey following the crash. We went to two different staging areas. The first was a ferry terminal, where they separated passengers who required emergency medical treatment.
The second staging area was a community center, where the police did multiple counts of the passengers, and the local citizens helped out by providing hot beverages and pizza. They even took our wet clothes to their nearby houses -- and washed them to get out the smell of jet fuel. It felt good to have our dry clothes returned about an hour later.
The final stage shows a group of passengers being transferred to LaGuardia airport.
A photo of me at the resue center is also included. My white shirt (and pants) were provided by the emergency services teams.
