This iReport is part of an assignment:
Crisis in the Middle East |
Deja Vu
(Disclaimer: I aplogize for the sloppy photoshopping because I'm not a photoshopper, so bare with me)
Is it me or does the current situation in Israel and Palestine remind you all of the USS Abraham Lincoln "Mission Accomplished" ordeal as well?
Israel is claiming victory by saying that they have accomplished their objective. I fail to see how they have since the rocket attacks still occur. Instead of eradictating their "enemy," I'm quite certain the Israeli's have impregnated the Arab's with more hate which can only lead to the birth of new militants and members of Hamas. (Wasn't that the OPPOSITE od what they wanted?) Although they WILL clinch the upcoming election, so well done.
Hamas claims victory because they can still fire rockets. No. No you idiots, you are NOT winners. All you have now is a destroyed city, thousands dead and injured, and to top it off, you have to figure out a way to avoid the impending humanitarian crisis. Well done.
So my point is, the conflict is STILL were it started from. Where is the "Accomplishment?"
