أعلنت كتائب الشهيد عز الدين القسام الجناح العسكري لحركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس) أن المقاومة قتلت 94 جندي إسرائيلي و 48 من عناصرها استشهدوا في الحرب على غزة بينهم استشهادي واحد.

وقال المتحدث باسم كتائب القسام أبو عبيدة في مؤتمر صحفي في غزة إن الكتائب أطلقت نحو تسعمائة صاروخ وقذيفة ضد المستوطنات الإسرائيلية، مشددة على أن قدراتها الصاروخية لم تتأثر في هذه الحرب وأنها في تطور وازدياد ولن تتأثر بالإجراءات التي ستتُخذ لمنع التهريب.

وشددت كتائب القسام على أن غزة انتصرت في هذه الحرب بعدم استسلامها وصمودها مذكرة بمهلة الأسبوع التي أعطتها للاحتلال من أجل الانسحاب وفك الحصار مشيرة في هذا المجال إلى أنه بعد هذه المهلة كل الخيارات مفتوحة.

عتبر رئيس الحكومة الفلسطينية المقالة إسماعيل هنية أن الشعب الفلسطيني انتصر على العدو بغزة بعد فشله أمنيا وسياسيا وأخلاقيا، ووصف قرار الفصائل الفلسطينية بإعلان وقف إطلاق نار لمدة أسبوع بأنه حكيم ومسؤول.

وتلا هنية -بعد يوم من قرار لإسرائيل بوقف أحادي للنار تبعه قرار مماثل للفصائل- خطابا عبر قناة الأقصى قدم فيه تقويما للعدوان الإسرائيلي وللتضامن الأممي والعربي الإسلامي مع غزة خلاله ولموقف الحكومة وإجراءاتها.

وقال إن الحكومة استمرت بعملها في "قلب الأجواء العاصفة" وإن الفوضى والفلتان لم يظهرا بغزة وبرز الإيثار والتعاون بأبهى صوره.

وقال إن ذلك كان "نصرا إلهيا ربانيا بحق" وإنه نصر أممي وإنساني لاحتضانه من قبل أحرار العالم، مضيفا في موضع آخر من الخطاب أنه سيفتح الباب للنصر الأكبر المتمثل بالتمسك بالحقوق والثوابت وإطلاق الأسرى وإقامة الدولة الفلسطينية وعاصمتها القدس الشريف.

Hamas vowed on Monday to rearm in defiance of any Israeli and international efforts to prevent the Islamist group from replenishing its arsenal of rockets and other weapons after the Gaza w More..ar.

"Do whatever you want. Manufacturing the holy weapons is our mission and we know how to acquire weapons," Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for Hamas' armed wing, told a news conference.

Addressing journalists with his face masked by a checkered Arab scarf, he said that only 48 Hamas fighters were killed in the IDF operation in Gaza. Palestinians report that at least 1,300 people were killed in the Strip in the past three weeks, while Israel claims that at least 500 of them are Hamas members.

Abu Ubaida went on to say that "all options would be open" if Israel failed to pull its troops out of the Gaza Strip within a week, a demand raised by Hamas when it announced on Sunday a ceasefire after three weeks of fighting.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad telephoned Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal on Monday and congratulated him on his "victory" in the battles against Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip, the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported.

According to the report, Ahmadinejad telephoned Mashaal and told him, "This is only the beginning of victory." He added that "pressure must be exerted for a complete withdrawal" of the IDF soldiers from the Strip and for the opening of the Gaza crossings.

The Iranian president went on to say that "the Zionist criminals must be prosecuted".

Since the beginning of the raids, and as of the 23th consecutive day today:

- At least 1,300 people have reportedly been killed

- This includes more than 417 children and 108 women

- More than 5,320 have sustained heavy injuries

- This includes 411 seriously wounded

- The majority of the casualties are civilians and 48% are children and women.

- At least 1/3 of the dead and injured in Gaza are children.

- At least 22 families were reportedly struck, killing fathers, mothers and children.

- The number is expected to rise as bodies are found under the rubbles throughout the days.
