Inaugural Parade - Security Delays
These two videos show the large crowds at the A gate to the Inaugural Parade at 7th. The first shows the crowd, with only 4 metal detectors and perhaps you can see no one moving at all. Some in the crowd said they had been trying to get in without success for several hours.
The second shows the same gate and also a pan over to a large group watching President Obama taking the oath of office on a TV through the window of a bar, because they couldn't get through security in time.
In our case, we had seats which we purchased during the online sale and were unable to get to our seats. After trying unsuccessfully to get in for the swearing in and were unable to get in for the parade, we struck out twice and then made our way home.
There were some sad faces in this crowd, though they still cheered as Obama took his Oath.
