    Mac SE30 1989

When I graduated college in 1988, the only computer courses I took were Lotus and Dbase. I had no idea what I was doing. I was currently working at a small print shop doing paste-ups and "typesetting", using rub-on letters, a photo copier and rubber cement.

In 1989 I went back to school for a night class called "Intro to Desktop Publishing". I thought it sounded interesting. That was when I was introduced to my first Mac SE30. I was blown away; the idea of moving a block of copy anywhere just by clicking and dragging was insane. Before the 8 week class was over, I went out and bought a Mac SE30 and an Apple LaserWriter. Actually, I had a three year lease on the package since it totaled about $8,000.00

All said and done, it was probably one of the best decisions I ever made. I am still in the printing industry and have made a pretty decent living of it. Although, I don't consider myself a Mac Maniac, I still work with a Mac, I still own a Mac and I still have that SE30 with 1mb of ram and 40mb hard drive.

I often ask myself; "I wonder how many times I've double-clicked in my lifetime".

Well, it's been worth every click! Rock on MAC!
