Mickey, WHAT HAPPENED??!!
Mickey Rourke took more than a decade off from acting, some of it to pursue boxing, some of it because Hollywood had had enough of his bad-boy antics. It took "The Wrestler," a film in which Rourke's character, a battered wrestler whose past catches up with him, to make the actor the comeback kid of the year, including a Golden Globe victory and an Oscar nomination. Like his character in "The Wrestler," Randy "The Ram" Robinson, Rourke apparently can't get enough of the ring. At Sunday night's SAG Awards ceremony, he told "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli that he plans to get back in the ring -- for real. In an "Extra" report that was scheduled to air last night, Rourke said that he "almost didn't do the film. But things worked out." And Rourke continued, "Now, Vince McMahon wants me to do Wrestle Mania in Houston. ... Chris Jericho ... I'm coming after you. ... You better get yourself in shape, brother. ... I'm going to do it!" When Penacoli asked Rourke if he was serious, he said in somewhat colorful terms that indeed he was.
