    Supermarket Shakedown

I don't mind so much when parents let co-workers know that their kid is selling cookies, and if anyone wants some, to come to their desk, or cube, or office to order. As some of these reports have stated, a lot of people (including me) really LIKE Girl Scout cookies, and are glad to have an opportunity to order them conveniently. I think it's wrong for a boss or supervisor to go around and solicit orders - that's intimidation, and probably litigable.

What REALLY gripes me are the people who set up shop right at the supermarket, or department store entrance, and have their cute, little girls ask every patron if they want to buy cookies. Sure, you can just smile, and say, "No, thanks", but I always feel a little guilty, because some of the kids look so disappointed. When I go to the store, or the market, it's for a specific reason. If I wanted to buy Girl Scout cookies, I'd locate someone who was selling them, and buy them. Don't accost me on my way into the store. Thank you.
