In Support Of John Coleman, Drum Major Extraordinaire
To The Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes & Drums: DON'T BE COWARDS! Do the stand up thing and put your phone number or your email address back on your website so that those of us who would like to comment and support John Coleman may do so. You have even taken away the ability to sign your guest book, only placing the positive remarks about your appearance at the parade. It is pretty obvious you are taking the cowardly way out. Even your local union has asked you to allow for this communication. It is shameful the way you have treated Mr. Coleman simply because he acknowledged our President during the inaugural parade. I support him and know that I am not alone. So please, put your email address back on your website at the very least. Let us voice our support for John Coleman. Everyone knows you are courageous and heroic men and women simply by nature of the profession you chose. I applaud your courage as firefighters. Now, allow all of us to applaud your courage as people, too...
Update: After seeing the band email posted here earlier today, I sent a very courteous email and received no response. Shortly thereafter, the band webmaster (coincidentally the same man who suspended Mr. Coleman) removed the guest book completely from the band website even though they had already disabled the ability to add anything to it. How unfortunate.
