    SL Mainland is expanding!

Something exciting is happening to the continents created by Linden Lab in Second Life - they are getting a makeover and expanding!

Linden Lab, the company behind the online world of Second Life, recently announce the formation of the Department of Public Works, a department dedicated to beautifying the existing regions as well as building new ones to expand the continent for all the residents of this world. They have opened the recruitment process to all residents who can create wonderful content and the first team of these self-named 'Moles' are about to start by expanding the area west of Nova Albion City in the regions of Miramare, Barcola, Grignano and Sistiana, as the map above illustrates.

These are exciting times for the residents and I'd urge everyone to go along to Nova Albion, not only to see the building works in progress, but to explore one of the oldest places in Second Life and the first city every built there.

You can follow all the news of the Department of Public Works on the offical Linden Lab Second Life blog and the resident maintained wiki.
