Israel - Hamas - Gaza - Conflict Root Cause

Former US President Carter on the recent mass-killings by Israel, in violation of International Law:

    • President Carter talks about Importance for the inclusion of Hamas in peace talks.

    • Says, that In previous 16 yrs, US Mideast Peace Envoys have been Zionists (committed to Israel) or Lobbyists for Israel, but President Obama has brought a new approach to Middle East and his nominee, George Mitchell is a different person, who'll be more objective and fair.

    • On the recent Israeli carnage on Gaza: Israel did not fulfill the ceasfire agreement, violated it adhering to a maximum of 20%, while Hamas kept its promise adhered to the ceasefire 99%, at which point Israel invaded Gaza.

    • on Israeli Lobby AIPAC's strangehold on US Power Institutions: President Carter says: "AIPAC is not committed to peace ... It is politically impossible for any member of US Congress to come out and condemn Israel, they would have a difficult time getting re-elected in our country". But there has been an emergence within US in the last 3-4 years of jewish organizations that realize it is not good for Israel's long-term well-being to keep such a choke-hold on US policies.
