    Super Bowl fan-demonium

Steelers Now the Greatest NFL Team? Yes, Dang it.

As I sit here in my Cowboys hoody wearing my Cowboys baseball cap, I am forced to admit something unpleasant. The Steelers are now indisputably the greatest NFL Team. Their unprecedented 6th Super Bowl win sets them apart. The Cowboys are close with 5 rings. They have 8 Super Bowl appearances vs 7 for the Steelers. They also have a record 29 playoff appearances and a record 20 division titles. However, the Steelers are close in all of those categories. You could argue that the Cowboys are the newer team so have had fewer opportunities for greatness and point out more stats like 32 playoff wins. Those are all valid but 6 Super Bowls is a big deal. The icing on the cake is that in 3 Super Bowl match-ups the Steelers went 2-1 against America's Team. The Cowboys are still the most popular team. They still make the most money and are worth the most money by a hefty margin. All of that counts, but that 6th ring just barely edges the 'Boys out. The important thing is that it is still razor close. The Cowboys could regain their throne next year with a Super Bowl win. They could also go on a prolonged string of deep playoff runs for several years to really pile on the playoff appearances and wins stats. However, on behalf of all Cowboys fans out there let me extend a hearty congratulations to the Steelers, the new and undisputed Greatest Team of the National Football league. Enjoy it while it lasts.
