    Outsourcing America

    Picture this:

You phone your congressman and instead of getting a human being in the US, someone picks up the phone with an Indian accent, and while trying to sound very American by using crutch words like "buddy" and "my friend", he tries to solve your problem for you.  Your congressmen's seat has been outsourced to India.

Why  this would never happen (other than the obvious, because the american people would never VOTE TO ALLOW IT), is that as soon as something threatens the life of senators and Congressmen, they will stop the partisan crap and actually address the issue.   If it doesn't directly impact their lives, then they can bicker and fight and gridlock all they want.

10 Years ago, you would be hard-pressed to hear the word "outsourcing" in my (and many) businesses.  But the fact is, that the jobs that caused the economic boom in the late 90's, those technical industries (not the dot.com's) that computer technologies suddenly allowed to exist, are now outsourcing a huge number of those jobs to India, China, Singapore, and elsewhere.

The auto industry, the steel industry, the effects industry, the computer industry, the things that AMERICAN'S MAKE and sell!  The backbone of the american economy is now OUTSOURCED to India, yet our government scratches their head about how to "fix the economy".

Triage:  You walk up to a patient who is missing a limb, do you treat the chills that are caused by his blood loss?  NO!  You put a tournakit on his LEG!

Right now our economy is hemorrhaging, and jobs are dropping by the thousands every day.  Why?  Well where did this begin?  Housing?  I call BS. 9-11?  Wrong again! This started in the early days of the Bush administration when he opened up the flood gates to outsourcing through the deferred tax loop holes.

Outsourcing Steel and Auto, causes job losses, which cause people to start losing their homes and causes supporting industries around those towns to lose money, which more houses to foreclose which causes the housing industry to collapse, which causes banks to fold.. etc..etc.

Outsourcing is the catalyst that causes ALL OF THIS.. WHY is that not being addressed?  If we don't TIE OFF THE BLEED, this country will continue to hemorrhage jobs.  The fact that outsourcing is still CHEAPER, means that as the economy slips we will outsource MORE AND MORE jobs overseas to save money, and the cycle continues.

The solution is simple, REVERSE THE FLOW... close the loopholes that strongly encourage outsourcing and GIVE THOSE BREAKS to companies paying americans.  Reduce (or eliminate) the cost to corporations of offering healthcare benefits so companies have more cash in the bank if they hire american workers.  Offer profit tax incentives to companies based on a % of their products that are created here in the US..

"Oh but that makes the cost of goods more expensive".. It also gives people MONEY TO BUY THOSE GOODS.. what's more important, the cost of goods or people having MONEY to BUY those goods?

    Jobs > Cost of Goods.

It's time "Made in the USA" meant ACTUALLY MADE BY AMERICANS again.   It's time we took some pride in what that label used to mean.  Remember when we (generation X) were kids and the Made in the USA label actually meant something good?  Remember the push over the Reagan years to ONLY BUY AMERICAN to dig us out of the recession then?  Well it's time again, but this time it's not about buying american, it's about BUILDING AMERICAN.
